How to Print Screen in Acer Laptop
Taking screenshots on Acer laptops is just as easy as screen recording on Mac, you can use several methods depending on your operating system and preferences. And on this page, you’ll find the most common methods.
The introduced methods work with the most popular Acer laptop models such as Acer Aspire 5, Acer Aspire 3, Acer Nitro 5, and Acer Chromebook.
Note that on some Acer laptops, you might need to use the Fn (Function) key if the PrtScn is a secondary function of a key, like this: Fn + PrtScn.
The Print Screen (PrtScn) key will bring out the snipping tool on your Acer laptop for quick screenshots.
It is quick, convenient, and requires no extra software, making it ideal for instant full-screen captures directly to the clipboard on an Acer laptop.
Step 1. Press the “PrtSc” key to capture the entire screen.

Step 2. Open an image editor like Paint and press “Ctrl + V” to paste the screenshot.
Step 3. Save the image by pressing “Ctrl + S” and choosing a location and file name.

Step 1. Press the “Windows key + PrtSc” simultaneously to capture the entire screen.
Step 2. The screenshot will be automatically saved in the “Screenshots” folder within the “Pictures” library.

If your Acer laptop doesn’t have a Print Screen key, or it’s not working, you can still take screenshots using the on-screen keyboard feature on Windows.
You can enable the on-screen keyboard from the Ease of Access settings or by searching for it in the Start menu. Once it’s open, you can click the PrtScn button on the on-screen keyboard, which functions just like the physical key.

Step 1. Open the Start menu by clicking the Windows icon in the bottom left corner.

Step 2. Type “On-Screen Keyboard” and select the On-Screen Keyboard app from the search results to open it.
Step 3. In the On-Screen Keyboard, click the PrtScn button.

Step 4. Paste the screenshot by pressing Ctrl + V to Paint or Microsoft Word.
The Game Bar is a feature designed for gamers to record gameplay, and it can also be used to capture screenshots and access widgets.
With its user-friendly interface and easy access, it’s perfect for capturing in-game moments and managing recordings.
Step 1. Open the Game Bar by pressing the Windows key + G.
Step 2. This brings up the Game Bar overlay, go to the upper-left Capture section.
Step 3. Click the camera icon to take a screenshot. The screenshot will be saved in the Videos/Captures folder.

Click on the window you want to capture to make it active and press Alt + PrtScn. This will capture just the active window.
Screenshots taken with Windows key + PrtScn are automatically saved in the Pictures\Screenshots folder.
On an Acer Chromebook, you can take a full screenshot by pressing Ctrl + Show Windows key (the Show Windows key is typically the 5th key on the top row, with a rectangle and two lines).
Yes, you can use the Game Bar by pressing Windows key + G and then clicking the camera icon to take a screenshot. Alternatively, if you’re using a game on Steam, you can use the F12 key (the default Steam screenshot key).
