How to Password Protect a PDF

Step 1. After you open the PDF you want to set a password in PDFgear, then click on the Password icon under the Tools tab.

Step 2. In the pop-up window, enter the password in the first box, and re-enter the password in the second box to confirm it. (Hold the eye icon on the right to check the password for any typing errors.)

Step 3. Click the “Save” button in the top left corner to apply the settings for password-protecting the PDF.

The settings to secure your PDF with a password won’t take effect until you save the document.

Remove Password

If you want to remove the password from the PDF document, simply follow these steps.

Step 1. Tap on the Remove button under the Tools tab.

Step 2. In the subsequent pop-up, click on the ‘Yes’ button to confirm the removal of the password.
